Annual Membership Meeting June 13, 2019, 7pm

UPDATE: Quorum was not met for the Annual Meeting scheduled for Tuesday. The meeting will be adjourned to this Thursday, 06/13/2019, 7:00pm at the Driftwood Fire Station.  Please come! And, if you can’t, please turn in an absentee ballot or proxy. You are encouraged to download and printout the Annual Meeting Attendee Packet as well.


The 2019 Annual Meeting for the Goldenwood Property Owners’ Association will be on Tuesday, June 11th at 7:00pm at the GPOA mail station (please bring a chair for yourself and bug spray).  If the required quorum of 50% of property owners is not present at the mail station meeting on Tuesday then the meeting will be adjourned to Thursday, June 13th at 7:00-9:00pm at the Driftwood Volunteer Fire Station.

The Annual Meeting provides time for the Board of Trustees to share information about their activities and business from the preceding year and for property owners to discuss community issues with the Board.  And, it’s a great chance for you to visit with your neighbors.

Also, the election for trustees of the Board is held at the Annual Meeting. This year there are 3 spots opening on the Board.  Two incumbents, Wendy Biro-Pollard and Jamie Lipman are running for re-election.  Mr. Mike Dunmire is also running.  

If you have any interest in running, please fill out the Board Application and let me know ASAP but definitely before May 21st so that we can get your name on the proxies and ballots! 

For those of you unable to attend the Annual Meeting – Proxies/absentee ballots will be going out late next week via email, with paper copies posted at the mail station. 

Proxies allow you to give your vote to another property owner that is attending the meeting. 

  • They can vote how you wish (you select candidates on the proxy) or
  • You can have them vote how they wish (leave candidate selection blank, allowing for write-in votes and candidates that may be nominated at the Annual Meeting.)  

Absentee ballots can be emailed in to the POA office, mailed or dropped into the POA box at the mail station and do not require another property owner to cast them or present them at the Annual Meeting.

This year, in an effort to make it easier to vote, and in accordance with the Texas property code, we will be sending out the proxy/absentee ballot form via email.  This form can be filled out on your computer and emailed right back.  No printing necessary!  Receipt of your proxy/absentee ballot vote will be sent to you via email.

Please read the attached meeting minutes to read about a complaint received following last year’s election.  In an effort to be as transparent as possible, the meeting minutes are lengthy and contain copies of the correspondence between the complainants and the Board of Trustees on this matter.  If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know or attend the next Board meeting to discuss the matter with the Board members.
